Loading the Train

We welcome Larry, Pete and Ray that arrived in Hearst last night on the Train and we have to say goodbye to Jim A, Jim T, Kristy, Tyler and Joe that had to leave this morning. Pictured is Joe loading his sled on the train for the ride home. They will travel back to the Soo where they will pick up their truck and trailers and head back to Michigan. It was cold here in Hurst this morning -23C. At least we do not have to worry about the snow melting today..

Annual Banquet

We had our annual banquet at the Companion Hotel in Hearst, Ontario on Saturday evening. Our distinguished guests included Roger Sigouin, the Mayor, Gerry Blain, President and Marc Morin from the local snowmobile club, Conrad Morin and Gaetan Longual, City Council members. Thanks to the city of Hearst for rolling the red carpet out for us.

Water Hole

Things were going great today but we ran into a snag. On Trail A about 10 miles East of Opasatika we encountered a water hole. Upon surveying the situation our trail guides decided it was a little too deep so we had a MichCanSka Adventure and made our own trail down the pipe line. The snow was deep but almost everyone made it with out any problems.

Moonbean Snowmobile Club

Our first stop this morning was for breakfast at the Moonbeam Snowmobile Club. We met some wonderful people and they fed us well. This is the groomer that has made the trails this morning for us PERFECT…

Happy Friday

We woke up to six fresh inches of snow this morning in Timmins. We broke up into two groups and the first group left the motel at 7:15 A.M. with the second group leaving at 7:45 A.M. The woods were spectacular with the pine trees bowing down with all the snow an them. Gas stop at Cochran and off to Abitibi Canyon for lunch. We arrived in Smooth Rock Falls at 5:00 P.M. with 210 miles in.
