The youngest rider, Bryon Pattullo (Team 3) from Miami FL, George & Betty Pattullo’s grandson, was riding in the deep powder today with Georges snowmobile and hit a patch of ice and rolled the sled. According to Bryon he got thrown from the sled and landed on his feet (not injured), the sled then rolled, breaking the windshield, GPS and cracking the hood. After some duct tape and a new part from the local Ski-doo dealer, the sled is ready to go again. Although Bryon has ridin snowmobiles most of his life and is an accomplished trick rider on jet-ski’s, he may have learned the difference between the two today. He also had the GoPro HD helmet cam on at the time and below is the video. (warning language may not be suitable for young children rated: PG-13)

Hey Bry – Ask Uncle Roy about a similar incident that he was involved in a few weeks back… He was a little bruised up though – looks like you made out better than he did. Glad you are ok!
Bryon – son of a what was that you were saying….
Don’t worry about the machine, god knows all the stuff that i smashed up and somehow still crawl back on for more punishment. Glad your OK.
Those look like tree tops, how deep is that snow?
Hope you all are enjoying the rest of the trip and show more video’s
Looks like we need to get the Kitty Kat out and start over – again. When you prove you can handle it. We’ll see if Matthew will let you ride his Mini-Z. And then the Moto-ski. Maybe in couple years even “Old Blue”. We’ll see.
Actually, I did exactly the same thing in 1973 on a brand new Polaris Charger. No video. Helmet cams weren’t out yet. Hopefully, Grandpa went easier on you this time, 37 years later.
Glad you’re OK. God knows we’ve broke enough sleds over the years to know they can be fixed a lot easier than us.
Love ya,
Dad
Seriously, I am glad Bryon is OK and after studing the video and talking to Bryon, it appears he hit an ice ridge under the fresh snow. Unfortunately, this is a risk of riding in an area where you don’t know the underlying snow structure and is an inherent risk of snowmobiling, it could happen to anyone at any time. Fortunately no one was hurt!
Glad your ok! and remember “You have to Drive it, not ride it!”
Just don’t take after Gramma and get all banged up. Just kidding have a great time.
Glad you’re ok, Bryon!
