Day 9 – Lots of fresh snow

When we woke up this morning ours sleds and the trail were covered with a blanket of fresh snow. We left our motel on at 7:30 A.M. but we did not make very good time. It was hard to see the markers and find the trail. A few people got stuck but that comes with ski-dooing ( as the Canadians call our snowmobiling). We only traveled 150 miles today but it took us 10 hours. Looking forward to another great day on the sleds tommorrow.

With a foot of fresh snow and several stop and go’s in the last hour, it appears at least someone is getting stuck! The teams have now arrived in Temagami, Ontario for lunch. Update: Just got off the phone with George Pattullo and Betty Randall and they stated some of the group have been getting stuck! Larry Wormnest, Duane, Sandy and Steve Crock all got stuck this morning… Pictures will be posted later this evening!
Day 9 – Off to North Bay, Ontario

The teams left about 7:40 this morning heading south on OFSC A-Trail toward North Bay, Ontario (about 130 miles). Very windy (40+) with a about a foot of fresh snow, will make for blizzard type conditions today. Temps will be in the twentys with highs around 32F. Windchill and blowing snow will make visability very low or impossible at times. Have a safe day out their guys and gals!
