Thanks to all the Children for the wonderful posters and good luck wishes on our 2011 journey. Also a BIG Thank-you to all the staff for the coffee and a very warm welcome to Paradise, Michigan.
The MichCanSka ride has officially started. We rode to the tunnel in Sault Ste. Marie and was greeted by the mayor, many city coucil men and the new activities director for the Soo. The mayor read a proclamation for us and we were off to Paradise. In Paradise the children came out from the school with posters that they had all made and thanked us for all the work we do.

Welcome to our 2011 MichCanSka adventure! Over 30 riders will cover 2,000+ miles in 14 days, traveling from Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, heading north across circumnavigating the Canadian province of Ontario (clockwise) finally arriving back in Searchmont, Ont.
On this Blog you will be able to see our route and hear about our days on the trail. Each day we plan on writing a description of memorable events along with photo’s and video along the trail.
We also want to remind everyone what significant cause this adventure is benefiting. The Diabetes Research Institute is a world-recognized research facility located on the campus of the University of Miami, where great strides have been made by the medical staff and researchers to defeat this deadly disease. Through the MichCanSka adventures we hope to raise awareness and the necessary funds to help them reach their goals. Together WE are the hope for a diabetes free tomorrow! Satellite tracking for the participants using the Spot Messengers has gone live, check out the “Satellite Tracking” page on the right hand side of this Blog. You can select the individual rider you want tomonitor. Reminder: the trip starts Sunday, Feb 6th, 2010. Until then you will see participants testing their Spot Messengers.
