Warming Shack

A welcome break along the trail is a warming shack. The warming shacks are all supplied with wood so we can build a fire and warm up.

This will be the 5th annual adventure ride for the MichCanSka extreme snowmobile club. This years ride across the northern Canadian province of Quebec will include the last leg to complete the over 6,000 miles from the Atlantic Ocean to Tok, Alaska. Effectively riding across the North American continent. Check back for further updates as the adventure begins on Feb 15th, 2014.

Our team leaders have a real challenge figuring out the trail system. They lead and the rest follow. Today was a real challenge because it rained yesterday and the snow had a coating of ice. Our sleds need snow to cool them and to provide lubrication to the slides. We traveled 180 miles today and arrived safely in Hearst tonight.
