Michcanska Adventure 2023

A sample of our scenery today as we climbed over the mountains between Norway and Sweden. We were escorted by a number of local people from the Fauske area. It made us feel very welcome.

We had a wonderful lunch, in Norway before we started to ride today. The mayor in Fauske is seated with us. What a great way to be welcomed on the start of this leg.

​World Tour – USA Riders
A typical morning with the riders except it was VERY cold this morning.

Dinner tonight at Alice’s Italian Restaurant in Iron River.

We followed the Iron River for many miles today. The beauty in Michigan is everywhere. We arrived in Iron River this afternoon with the weather warming up to 4 degrees. Had a wonderful dinner at Alice’s Restaurant and looking forward to our ride tomorrow to the Buckhorn near Munising.

USA – Riders
We went to lunch today at the Hoop ‘N Holler in beautiful downtown Merriweather. Population 2. Not one of Michigan’s largest cities but they sure served some good food

USA Riders at the Root Cellar enjoying dinner together. It was very cold today and extremely windy.

We had a wonderful dinner at the Root Cellar on the East side of Lake Gogebic. We celebrated Joe’s birthday and he said he hopes we can celebrate together for the next 30 years. Everyone looked at each other and figured if we did we would be in wheelchairs instead of snowmobiles.

Copper Harbor to Lake Gogebic
We left Copper Harbor at 8:45 AM with -2 degrees and strong winds. The trails were smooth but visibility was very bad. Everyone made it safely to “Bear’s” Nine Pines Resort where we will be for the next two days.
