With a foot of fresh snow and several stop and go’s in the last hour, it appears at least someone is getting stuck! The teams have now arrived in Temagami, Ontario for lunch. Update: Just got off the phone with George Pattullo and Betty Randall and they stated some of the group have been getting stuck! Larry Wormnest, Duane, Sandy and Steve Crock all got stuck this morning… Pictures will be posted later this evening!

The teams left about 7:40 this morning heading south on OFSC A-Trail toward North Bay, Ontario (about 130 miles). Very windy (40+) with a about a foot of fresh snow, will make for blizzard type conditions today. Temps will be in the twentys with highs around 32F. Windchill and blowing snow  will make visability very low or impossible at times.  Have a safe day out their guys and gals!

What a lovely day it is. The weather has warmed up and we can stop and stretch without getting cold. We don’t get alarmed when we see signs like this along the trail. The trails are well groomed but not marked like they are in Michigan. We traveled 230 miles today and had a wonderful day.

5:40 P.M. The first riders have arrived at their destination of New Liskeard, Ontario. It appears everyone else is close behind and will arrive within minutes.

The teams left this morning at 7:50 A.M. riding south on OFSC trail (A) toward New Liskeard, Ontario on the Quebec border, about 200 miles.  Starting Temps this morning of +13F and highs today around +27F with light snow. This is the warmest day of the trip so far..

We are leaving Cochrane Sunday morning. It is 7:30 A.M. with light snow and 7 degrees. Garry and George are discussing todays travel plans.

Day 7-Abitibi Canyon

A very cold morning as we leave Smooth Rock Falls to make a loop around Abitibi Canyon. The weather had warmed up to -2 degrees by 10:30 A.M. when we arrived at the Base Camp which consisted of a gas pump (which was $2.40 a liter) and a construction trailer which we gladly entered and warmed up with a cup of hot chocolate.
