Water Hole

Things were going great today but we ran into a snag. On Trail A about 10 miles East of Opasatika we encountered a water hole. Upon surveying the situation our trail guides decided it was a little too deep so we had a MichCanSka Adventure and made our own trail down the pipe line. The snow was deep but almost everyone made it with out any problems.

We woke up to six fresh inches of snow this morning in Timmins. We broke up into two groups and the first group left the motel at 7:15 A.M. with the second group leaving at 7:45 A.M. The woods were spectacular with the pine trees bowing down with all the snow an them. Gas stop at Cochran and off to Abitibi Canyon for lunch. We arrived in Smooth Rock Falls at 5:00 P.M. with 210 miles in.

We had good trails today but the temperature has been staying in the 30’s. We stopped in Foleyte for lunch. This afternoon we encountered snow/rain and it caused lots of problems on our shields. The local groomers have the trails in good shape and we thank them for that.
