Flowing River

Very strange to find a river not frozen at this time of year. We have crossed many rivers and lakes on our sleds.

Day 18

As we are getting farther North in Quebec the weather is getting colder. This morning we had a sled that would not start and had to get out the jumper cables and battery. After a few tries it started and we were on our way. The temp is -22 degrees and we have 186 miles to ride today.

We have 38 miles to go and we come upon a snowmobile club house on the trail. Perfect timing because we are all cold and decide a Hot Chocolate would warm us up. It is -6 degrees at 2:30 P.M.

Rick Rice…..Rick drives a Ski-Doo and lives in Manton, Michigan. When asked why he wanted to do such a big ride he replied that he had never been to Quebec and wanted to see it. A high-lite of this trip for him was riding in the mountains.

Day 17

10 of us started our day at 7:30 A.M. with the temp at -10 degrees. We have 3 people not feeling well today so they opted to ride in the truck. It is good that we have a chase vehicle so each of us have that option. It warmed up to 3 degrees at lunch time but still felt like -10………182 miles when we arrived in St. Felicien. 2,498 total miles as of today with 5 days yet to ride….

Flat Land

We have left the mountains and have been riding in the flat lands for the past couple of day. Lots of farm land and Maples. They have the Maple trees all tapped with pipeline systems going to the sugar bushes. Maple Syrup is big here in Quebec.
