Hughie got a little stuck today in the snow pile in the parking lot of the casino! Tyler and Yves had to pull him back down by hand and remind him he wasn’t allowed to play king of the hill!

Our snowmobile club was honored to do the celebrity lap around the track before the International I-500 race began. We flew the flags on the back of our sleds of the countries we will be traveling in on our World Tour. Our poster girl Josie rode with her Dad and waved to all the crowd.

MichCanSka to the Rescue – Unsung Heroes

The camaraderie that is shared amongst snowmobilers is immeasurable. The bonding that they enjoy as snowmobilers is about as close as you can get. On February 6th 2015 at about 9:30AM the MichCanSka World Tour riders were on their way from Sault Ste. Marie Michigan to Paradise Michigan when they came upon a snowmobiler who was in big trouble and didn’t even know how much trouble he was in. He was sitting in the snow on the clutch side of his snowmobile trying to change a belt that he just broke and didn’t realize it but the snowmobile was on fire with flames shooting out of the other side of the machine. The quick reaction of 3 of the MichCanSka World Tour riders came to his aid. Garry Randall USA, Jean Gui Charette Canada and Andrei Bobonov Russia jumped from their sleds and ran to his aid to put out the fire that could have reached the gas tank and caused a major explosion. With no concern for their own safety they all joined in throwing snow on the burning motor with their hands to save the owner from great harm. In addition to the teamwork of snowmobilers saving another snowmobiler from possible catastrophe it showed us something else. It showed us how regular people from all over the world can get along and work together. Maybe our world leaders can learn something from this incident and help put out some of the fires that can save many people world wide. Bill Bradfield, MichCanSka President

8:30 AM with 4 inches of fresh snow and a perfect temperature of 16 degrees we are ready to start our epic adventure. We are at the tunnel which goes under the I-75 freeway in Sault Ste. Marie. Mayor Tony presented us with the key to the city and a proclamation endorsing our ride.

In 2010 on our epic ride to Alaska our first stop was in Paradise at the school and we were greeted with signs and high fives. Today, as our World tour starts, our first stop was again at the school in Paradise but this year we were served a wonderful lunch. The school has 23 students and we had a great time visiting with them. A BIG thank you to all the kids and staff.

7 year old Josie was diagnosed last March with type 1 Diabetes. Bill Bradfield is presenting her with a special shirt especially designed for her. We are all riding to raise money to try and find a cure for this nasty disease.
