Michcanska Adventure 2023

Left the hotel in Bathurst NB this morning around 8:00 with 14 riders. We stopped for lunch at St Maure Clubhouse around 11am for some delicious food! After lunch the group split in two and one went about 95 miles back to the hotel while the other group took the long way and rode about 130 miles back to the hotel. Our group rode about 150 miles today while the other group ended up with right around 200, for a trip total of approximately 470 miles for me, so far. It was another awesome day of riding in this beautiful country!

Left the hotel in Bathurst NB this morning around 8:00 with 12 riders. We stopped for lunch at Dixie Lee Caraquet NB around noon. Nobody got stuck today but I did have to help flip one sled back over, luckily the sled and rider were undamaged. We headed back for the hotel after lunch to complete our loop and made it back without incident. Today was a beautiful day of riding and now we will rest up to start another one tomorrow! We rode 190 miles today for a trip total of approximately 320 miles so far.

Left the hotel in Bathurst NB this morning around 8:30 with 15 riders. We stopped for lunch at Roger’s Lake Lodge, near Northesk Parish, NB, around 12:30. We did have 3 people get stuck this morning but luckily we were able to get them out with no injuries or damage to the sleds, although it did make me realize how out of shape I am. We headed back for the hotel after lunch to complete our loop and made it back without incident. Today was a beautiful day of riding and now we will rest up to start another one tomorrow!

On Friday, March, 11th, the final day of riding, the group of 6 riders rode 104 miles from (Eveleth,MN to Two Harbors, NN). We safely arrived about 11:30 A.M. The biggest challenge was Tyler finding a snowmobile track along side the trail…. and further up the field was Grant Poll’s sled, it has coasted to a stop and was missing…. its track! Fortunately, we were only about 3 miles for our destination for the trip, so it was a quick and easy recovery! In addition, Pete’s sled had brake failure the last 70 miles and had to anticipate and ride more cautious… Glad these issues did not happen earlier in the adventure.

Today was the last full day of riding for the trip. Left Pequot Lakes around 8 this morning and rode 100 miles to lunch in Swan River. Road another 86 miles after lunch and ended the day around 4:30 in Eveleth, MN. Tomorrow will be a half day of riding to Two Harbors to load up and head back home.

Today we rode through Paul Bunyan country. I know Pete thinks everything is Big in Texas, but those Texans have nothing on Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox. Everything today was big, big miles, big fun, big Laughs, big smiles, big trees, big mines, big Hills.

It was a Great Big Day!
