Day 16

Burr !!!!!!!! -3 degrees when we left Quebec City at 8:00 this morning.. Heading North-West today to La Tuque. 132 very chilly miles today. It warmed up to 2 degrees today but with the wind it felt like -20. The farther we go North the colder it is expected to be. Extra clothes are going on tomorrow so if we look like we have gained weight – we probably have. The food here is Quebec is very good..

Lunch Stop

We are having lunch today at a restaurant instead of a snowmobile club. The menu is always the same no matter where we eat. Hamburgers, Club Sandwiches, Veg. soup and French Fries with Gravy are the main items.

George Pattullo….. George lives in Caro, Michigan and drives a Ski-Doo.. He sits on the Board of Directors of MichCanSka and is a charter member that went to Alaska in 2010. George is responsible for putting this Gaspe trip together. Many hours of planning were spent to make sure the Motels, Gas stops and lunches were planned for all riders.
Thanks George for making sure this trip is one everyone will remember forever… You Rock !!!!!!

The sleds were ready to roll at 7:00 this morning. It wasn’t as cold as it has been..10 degrees but with the wind it feels like 0.. Good trails this morning and after 105 miles we stopped at a local snowmobile club for lunch. This afternoon we encountered many horses pulling sleighs.. We had to trailer this evening across the St. Lawrence Seaway and after a good nights sleep we will be ready to ride again tomorrow. In the morning we will start to head back North.

Safety is a major concern when traveling in such a large group. We have a crossing guard at all busy roads to make sure every snowmobiler makes it across the road safe. Thanks to Duane for the first half of the trip and Thanks to Ed for the second half……

Snowmobiler of the Day

Ralph Gordon….. Ralph lives in Ontario, Canada and drives a Yamaha.. He is a charter member of MichCanSka and has been on all the MichCanSka rides. Ralph is one of the top three people that have collected donations for Diabetes.. He is a great guy and fun to be with…..
